Mayfest 2024: Celebrating the Community and Caregivers Through Fun!
Mayfest is once again coming to Carson in 2024 and we are inviting you to join! Last year’s Mayfest was a success with more than 500 participants and we are inviting everyone to join us again this year. Mayfest is a festival that celebrates and recognizes the contributions of caregivers, care providers, and care facilities in Southern California through fun-filled activities. Mayfest 2024 focuses on raising awareness for caregiver mental health.

What to Expect at Mayfest 2024
At Mayfest 2024, you’ll find a mix of fun activities for the whole family such as:
Santacruzan Procession Indoor fashion show - The Santacruzan procession will be the opening of Mayfest 2024 and will be its highlight. Santacruzan is a celebration in the Philippines that involves Reinas or muses parading. After the outdoor parade, the indoor fashion show will follow.

Car show - Car owners and car enthusiasts will have the opportunity to showcase their unique vehicles and awe the audience.

Talent presentations - Mayfest will feature performers of different talents to perform in Mayfest and entertain the audience. The type of performances that will be showcased are dancing, singing, entertainment, comedy, and many more.

Caregiver Nominations - Those interested are given the opportunity to nominate a caregiver, facility owner, or healthcare nonprofit organization that they know performed well in the past few years and deserves recognition. No hard work should go unnoticed.

There would also be food truck vendors to ensure that everyone is well-fed while the activities are ongoing.

Becoming a Volunteer
Mayfest is a big event with big activities and hundreds of participants - we need as much help as we can to make sure Mayfest goes smoothly. As a volunteer here are some of your responsibilities:
Attend weekly meetings to know the latest updates and changes.
Help in organizing and setting up the venue.
Help in the registration of participants during the event.
Help in logistics.
Each volunteer will be provided with official Mayfest 2024 merchandise, including a specially designed T-shirt that will be worn during the event.
Donate for a Cause
Aside from enjoying the activities in Mayfest, you can directly help caregivers and care providers by donating. Your donation will be a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of caregivers and those they assist. Mayfest is in partner with Ca Care Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of care in California.
Ca Care Association offers services including safe, affordable, and personalized training for caregivers in assisted living homes and community-based care settings. Your donations will directly support their monthly caregiver training programs, ensuring caregivers across California have access to the knowledge and skills they need to provide the best care possible.
